Replacement equipment enquiry checklist
What to note and photograph when you need to replace a pump, filter, valve or other equipment that is already installed.
Photographs to take
- The equipment's rating label, close enough to read the model, serial number and electrical data
- The whole unit, showing pipe connections on both sides
- The surrounding plant room, so we can see space and access
Details to note
- Make and model number, if the label is unreadable
- Pipe sizes and connection types at the unit
- Electrical supply: single or three phase
- Pool volume, or length, width and depths
- What has failed or what symptoms you see
- Approximate age of the equipment
Decisions to make
- Do you need the same model, or is an equivalent or upgraded model acceptable?
- Will pipework or electrical changes be possible if dimensions differ?
- How urgently is the replacement needed?
